Life at the Devonshire - Magical Moments Jan/Feb 2022

Welcome to our January/February edition of our digital newsletter called 'Life at the Devonshire'. We always welcome your feedback and suggestions.

Happy reading!

Stay Safe and well from all of us at the Devonshire.

KINETIC SAND

Part of our touch and feel experience, our team brought the beach to the living room. A game sprinkled with intrigue; this squeezable sand is something Residents could not put down. Satisfying the senses, we were able to mix, mould and create anything imaginable. With 98% sand and 2% magic, Joyce V reminisced about trips to the seaside, Catherine lifted the lid on her sandcastle expertise and the rest had a ‘ball’ as they reflected on calming memories.

ACTIONS SPEAK LOUDER THAN WORDS

Polite as ever - no matter the day, month, or season, Charles C ever fails to make our Care Staff smile with a thumbs up, a wave hello or a wave goodbye. The simple things that count, Charles can be seen here with his drink at the ready, word search at his fingertips, and his actions primed to steal our hearts.

CHINESE NEW YEAR

A year that represents bravery and confidence, that’s exactly what our Residents showed. We were greeted with intrigue and warmth from Florence and Barbara. Chinese New Year has left its mark on the Devonshire, with funny quirks such as ‘I don’t know Chinese New Year, but I’ve certainly tried and love the food’. Roaring laughter, with an eye of the tiger attitude – our purring amounts of interest saw a paw-some celebration that was taken part within pride. Truly earning their stripes, they understood the significance of this day.

SHROVE TUESDAY

Who’s flipping excited about Pancake Day? In years gone by, we’ve cooked up a storm and thrown up some masterpieces. Beggars the question, does it really have to be ‘Tuesday’ to enjoy these?

“There is nothing that brings me more joy than knowing I’ve made a difference. Put into others as you would have them put into you. Above all, just love. If you love, the rest will follow”
