TEEPA SNOW
We had the honour and privilege to welcome Teepa Snow (a legend in dementia care) and her team to the Devonshire for two days. Seven years ago, our Director met Teepa on her continual worldwide quest to look for the best research and care practices for people living with dementia. She was thrilled with Teepa’s positive approach, and we integrated it into our model of care. Teepa and her team’s visit reinforced our quest to make a difference in the lives of people living with dementia and to support families.
From compassion to Beatrice during Doll Therapy to engaging insights on activities, staff drifted towards Teepa’s positive energy; Residents’ unmet needs behaviours continue to decrease and staff are more relaxed and confident.
Champion Day with Teepa Snow, Westminster Curio Hotel - 7th July
From the Devonshire to Westminster Curio Hotel, 15 staff and some family members were delighted to attend a Champion Day training course. Having learned so much, we want to say a big thank you to Teepa and her team. We are well on our way to becoming a PAC designated care home.
