Carers of the Month 

Dear Vanessa,

I wanted to put into writing my sincere thanks to the three members of your staff who accompanied mum and me and stayed with us during her recent visit to A&E following her fall in the bathroom.

Kelly is exceptionally knowledgeable with A&E procedures and was invaluable in assisting the hospital nursing staff in dealing with a dementia suffering patient; NHS staff unfortunately still have a lot to learn. She kept mum calm and comfortable and kept me from getting too stressed, she was quite literally worth her weight in gold.

Ahmed, without hesitation and after working all day, abandoned his plans for an early night to get to A&E to watch over and take care of mum throughout the night. I can't tell you how grateful I am for his compassion and that he would do that for her.

Larry's unruffled composure was reassuring and comforting throughout the long waiting about on the second day. When mum was getting agitated he skillfully kept her calm and took exceptional care of her.

Mum has made a remarkable recovery from her misadventure and my gratitude and thanks extend to all your staff who have taken such good care of her.
