Magnificient March
DEMENTIA EXPERIENCE and TOUR
Proud to be thought leaders in dementia, our specialist dementia team were visited by students of University College London for a tour of our day centre, tranquil gardens and care home! Small changes in care can make a huge difference to well-being, so we were delighted to highlight everything our Residents have taught us over the past 35 years. From purposefully vintage themes to the ‘dementia experience’, our visitors learned what it would be like to ‘walk in the shoes’ of someone living with dementia and picked up some great care tips.
The students discovered the meaning behind our Market stand experience, iconic London phone box and our suitcases full of sentiments!
INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY
We decorated our Day Centre in a sea of purple and white as we had love in our heart and joy in our sight. Christine had a great time having her photo taken in our ‘Balloon Arch’ while Joan asked ‘Can I go there?’ after gasping over how beautiful the symbol is!
RED NOSE DAY
On the 15th March, our staff had an appropriate laugh with our Residents as we teamed with the ‘jokers of the pack’ to celebrate Red Nose Day.
FESTIVAL OF HOLI
A day filled with colour like no other, we celebrated the festival of Holi in style with Tie Dye T-Shirt making!
As we approach Spring with a spring in our step, the festival of ‘colour, love and spring’ often unites people, so we wanted to gently encourage a stimulating and engaging activity that would further promote friendships and continue the joyful and vibrant scenes that are so often witnessed in our vintage inspired Day Centre!
We laid out the red carpet and banners for a warm welcome as Devika and Sue gave it a go!
