Welcome to the Devonshire Dementia Day Centre

Are you looking for an exclusive, unique, safe and welcoming day centre for a loved one living with dementia?

Maybe your family member is feeling lonely, confused and anxious. Maybe you need to run errands, and need a minder because you feel anxious to leave them alone at home. Or maybe you just need a well-deserved break.

We aim to provide a fun day out with thoughtful care for your loved one who will be treated with dignity, respect, love, compassion and understanding. Our staff are specially trained to care for people living with dementia. We have over 30 years of experience.

Our building has been specially adapted to offer a dementia friendly’ environment. There’s a 1950s themed Devonshire Lyons tea room, a safe and secure garden with paths and seating areas, a multipurpose room used as a barber’s shop/beauty salon on some days and a market stall/shop on others, and we offer a bathing service. There is plenty of parking at the front of the building and a bus stop just outside. The bus is no. 213, and the stop is Blakes Lane.

If you would like to try out our day care centre please feel free to attend our FREE coffee mornings on Wednesdays from 10:30am to 12:30pm with your loved one who has dementia. Alternatively, please call to make an appointment.

A Letter from a guest's relative

Dear Devonshire Dementia Day Centre,

I am writing to you as I would like you to know that since Mum has been attending your day centre her mood and behaviour have improved greatly. She seems to be a lot happier and calmer when she returns home. Even her sense of humour seems to be returning and it is nice to see her smile again. If she is having a bad day at home it does not last long and it’s made both mine and my husband’s role as carers a lot easier. It also gives us some respite time to recharge our batteries so we can continue with our carer’s role.

Thank you and kind regards
Mrs. Christine McGoldryck

WhaT Julie says about the devonshire dementia care home

We pride ourselves on offering a warm, welcoming, caring and relaxed atmosphere combined with a professionally trained care team to keep your loved one safe and happy. Visit us and experience it for yourself.

Entrust us with the care of your family member or friend during the day so they can enjoy some stimulating company, activities, therapies, hot nutritious meals, afternoon tea or just a stroll in our sensory dementia friendly garden. In our experience this helps to relieve some of the complex feelings and moods experienced by people living with dementia.

Meanwhile, you can have a well-earned rest or run errands that you have put off because you feel anxious to leave them alone at home. We are always happy to share over 30 years of experience and offer advice and support for you as a carer.

We offer this exclusive service seven days a week, from 9am to 5pm daily for a minimum of four hours; an 8am drop off can be arranged. We serve the local areas of Kingston, New Malden, Richmond, Sutton, Wimbledon and Worcester Park in Surrey.

Loneliness can be hard to deal with, but coming to spend the day at our Day Centre can help turn things around and even create new friendships!

A review from a guest's relative

I have been so pleased and impressed with the staff and the care they have given to my mother. Nothing is ever too much trouble; they are so caring and kind in everything they do. The day care is very well run and equipped. So glad to have found it and my mother is very happy there.
