University of West London honours for director at Devonshire Dementia Care Home
Congratulations to our Director Annar. She was awarded an honorary doctorate degree for her work in dementia.
The honorary doctorate degree was given on the basis of high achievement in a respective field in the United Kingdom.
Dr Mangalji said she is grateful to all the people living with dementia who she has had the honour of working with as they have been her best teachers over the last 33 years.
She added, that “dementia is a very complex disease and requires significant future research to be understood. We must find a cure and ways to prevent it from robbing our minds and our lives.”
Dr Mangalji praised her team of staff at the Devonshire, and said it would not have been possible to receive this honour and recognition without their belief in her work and dementia model. They make a remarkable difference to the lives of people entrusted in our care by weaving our interventions into the daily life and care of our residents. She thanked the staff of the Devonshire for their support.
