EXTRAORDINARY OCTOBER
POSITIVE APPROACH TO CARE®
Our management team joined Dr Beth Nolan of Positive Approach To Care® at the Ismaili Centre on October 11th when she made a whistle-stop in London on her way back from the Alzheimer Europe Conference in Geneva.
On the first evening, she was a special guest at a Zoom support group for families and carers of people living with dementia, during which she shared her knowledge and practical tips on how to improve communication
and care.
On Friday the 11th, at the Ismaili Centre in Kensington, she spoke not only to the hundreds of attendees at the Centre, but also reached a much wider community all over the world as the event was broadcast live on the community TV channel.
A special thanks to Teepa Snow, PAC and Beth for spreading dementia awareness worldwide.
SPECIAL THANK YOU
A special thank you to our compassionate care team.
A care home is only as good as the staff who work in it. In hundreds of languages and countless ways, we want to show our sincerest gratitude and support to everyone!
From the care team, office and kitchen to laundry, housekeeping and maintenance, we continue to thrive together as a collective, as we learn more and more from our Residents (our best teachers).
HALLOWEEN PARTY!
‘Witch’ way to the party? We had ‘pumpkin’ to talk about as we howled to the ‘Monster Mash’, thrived to ‘thriller’ and felt spiritually connected in fang-tastic surroundings! In a devilish mood, Roger said: ‘This is a good party’, as Francis pointed to the camera with typical charisma.
No tricks! Our party proved to be quite the treat! The’ Ghostess’ with the mostess, our staff setup fab-BOO-lous face painting, themed cakes, biscuit decorating, fancy dress and even a guest singer who entertained us! Andy shared a dance from the comfort
of his seat as he enjoyed the rhythm and the beat.
We change our unique and individual music playlists to suit each Resident or Day Guests ‘request’ and for events throughout the year. For Halloween – Terry could not wait to get in the door as he heard the opening to Ghostbusters! Charles, who was crowned king for the day was encouraged to the dancefloor by Christine, as she sung the lyrics of ‘Let’s twist again’. In the lounge – Margaret smiled, whenever a spooky song played!
