*Dementia robs people of their lives. One person will develop dementia every 3 minutes in the UK this year.

We are committed to making a difference for people living with dementia

World Alzheimer’s Day is part of a month when Alzheimer’s organisations around the world concentrate their efforts on raising awareness about Alzheimer’s and dementia. Alzheimer’s disease is the most common form of dementia, a group of disorders that impairs mental functioning.

The Alzheimer’s Society (2015) reports there are over 850,000 people living with dementia in the UK today. Of these, approximately, 40,000 are people with young onset dementia, which affects people under the age of 65. As a person’s age increases, so does the risk of them developing dementia.
