FROM FESTIVE CHEER TO A HAPPY NEW YEAR!
As we begin 2024…we would like to wish everyone a very happy, healthy, prosperous new year, praying for peace and hope.
A home is only as good as the staff, so we want to thank our wonderful team for their kindness, patience, hard work, dedication, concern, mindfulness and for always trying to make each day better for our Residents and Day Guests. We would also like to thank the families and partners of our staff for their support and understanding of long hours and shift work. Thank you to all relatives and advocates for your feedback and partnership in making sure we are providing the best care possible for your loved ones.
We celebrated the birthdays of Florence, Margaret R, Geoffrey, Ginette and Angelo. Each Resident had a great day spent with our care team and loved ones.
Jean S cheekily said: ‘Thanks for the hat, but green is more my colour’ and Jacquelline opened a gift from her partner David, who came to visit.
CHRISTMAS
JUMPER DAY
Our tight ‘knit’ group were in ‘stitches’ as we dressed in our festive best. Barbara R modestly said: ‘I’ll dance, but I’m not the best’ and Cath said: ‘Jingle bells? That’s my favourite!’
Jacqui said: ‘I’ll need a ladder to reach’.
Jacqui and Terry were Happy and Merry as we felt truly at ease decorating not one, not two, but five Christmas Trees! This joyous activity was a lot fun and lit up the Residents’ faces as much as the baubles on show.
CHRISTMAS CAROLS
Richard Challoner School kindly lent us their voice as we enjoyed festive classics of the Residents’ choice. Each lyric was sang with care and joy by the choir. Leading to moments of magic that sprinkled all day, Veronica (whose spirit was as bright as her yellow painted nails) tapped her feet to every beat and Kathleen F quipped: ‘This is all a bit magical’.
